Hire our Lodge, affectionately called East Gate Lodge, as Forest Haven is located a short walk from the East Gate of RAF Woodbridge, central to the mystery surrounding the famous UFO sighting of late 1980.
One of Great Britain's most significant Military-UFO incidents, there were reports of sightings of unexplained lights nearby and claimed landings of a UFO. The incident is sometimes called the most famous UFO event to have happened in Britain: "Britain's Roswell."
The Lodge itself is a bespoke Grillikota, from the Finnish for Grill house, developed from the traditional Kotas (similar to a teepee) used by the indigenous Sami people in Northern Lapland.
Comfortably sleeping two with ensuite heated wet room, the beds surround a central firepit, great for cooking and toasting marshmallows. The adjustable grill ensures an even heat, cooking food to perfection while you and your companions can sit around the log fire enjoying its cosy glow.
Create the perfect ambience with our remote control mood lighting, varying colour and tone at the press of a button, connect to our bluetooth speaker to add that finishing touch with your favourite tunes, or enjoy one of our specially selected relaxation CDs. Then sit back with a glass of your tipple of choice, nicely chilled in the adjoining kitchenette which houses a fridge/small freezer, mini hob and sink.
Fancy dining and living a bit more al fresco? use of the outside fire pit with grill and dutch oven is included, perfect for hot pots, stews and casseroles, for that authentic sitting around the camp fire experience. Enjoy the days end watching the sun set over the trees and feel the stillness and peace as the forest changes from day to night. This is often the time of day when deer venture out across the tracks, so be sure to keep an eye open for a sighting of these wonderful majestic and serene animals.
Once the sun…and supper…have gone down, you might fancy a dip in the hot tub outside your lodge. Relax and let your head lie back as you gaze up at the stars and moon lit sky or maybe even a UFO. You can also hire our wood fired Barrel Sauna, overlooking the Forest, or if you are brave enough try Ice Bathing! To add to your experience why not also treat yourself to one of our massage therapies.
Round the evening off with marshmallows toasted over the remaining embers of the fire., topped off with hot chocolate for that extra bit of perfect indulgence.
Feeling a bit more adventurous? Enjoy a night under the stars with our Bushcraft hammock, for a small extra fee, just you, the forest and nocturnal wildlife, a great way to really be part of nature.
There is no televsion or Wifi. The aim is to enjoy the natural surroundings and enjoy the forest.

What our customers have to say
Sports therapy treatments have helped me in both competitive and leisure cycling, helping recovery as well as alleviating discomfort, especially from an old hamstring injury. One of the things I like about Roy is the mix of a friendly yet professional approach with a wide range of knowledge, including dietary advice and exercise tips as well as helping keep me focused and motivated. I’ve also learnt the importance of rest to help achieve my goals!
My decision to start training with Abi 15 years ago was inspired! The difference in my physical condition is astonishing and rather than feeling older and more exhausted I genuinely feel rejuvenated. The move to their own premises in Framlingham and then Rendlesham has added privacy and flexibility., add massage the steam room and hot tub – well I am extremely happy (and fit).
What I like about Roy is his non-judgemental approach, his good listening skills and his sense of humour. He is very refreshing. Also what is different with Roy is his ability to combine treatments, being qualified in so many areas – Counselling, reflexology, hypnotherapy, massage and reiki, to name a few. This can be very useful, especially with an illness as diverse as ME, and a person as diverse as ME!
